Swipe Right and Left, Death!

With most dating apps, users often swipe right if they want to connect with a person, and swipe left if they don’t think they are a match. And they do this based on the uploaded photo and information on the bio. But what if death uses such mechanics in choosing which goes to hell and which ends up in heaven? Interestingly fun, right? Grimder is a game application designed to make a play out of dating apps. In this game, you will play as death, who will swipe left or right to send characters to hell or heaven based on their traits. Let the judgmental trait of you fly, but tread carefully, because you might fill up the afterlife if you made a wrong decision.

Bring the Judgement

Grimder is an indie game that tackles the idea of the afterlife. In the game, you, playing as Death, is holding a mobile phone, which shows the picture and information who have recently passed away. You will need to decide whether to send the person in the screen to hell or heaven based on the information provided.

The game will see how you judge a person based on their traits as most of the things that will send people to hell are actually just our pet peeves. You will need to decide if you will still allow a person who chews loudly to heaven, or if leaving passive-aggressive post-it to your flatmates will give you a one-way ticket to hell. There are also other traits, such as kicking a dog when no one is looking, which, obviously, deserves having a room with Satan himself.

Manage Heaven and Hell

Playing Grimder can be fun, because who wouldn’t want to judge others, right? However, it does not only end with sending people to hell or heaven. The game has a theme of running out of space. It flows with the idea of heaven and hell having a capacity limit. It is up to you to decide what warrants a spot in hell and what gives the character a chance in heaven. Make a wrong judgment, and your versions of heaven or hell will fill up quickly. Not only that, but you will also get some pretty rude texts from the custodians of each side, and we mean God and Satan themselves.

Fun Game, But Not for Long

Looking at it, Grimder sure does have a very unique and very fun game concept. Add in a simple game mechanic, and you get an enjoyable game, but not hours on end. It has very straightforward gameplay that will lose its appeal after minutes of playing. More so, there are not a whole lot of souls to sort out. You will also get people doubling up on bio traits. The characters involved didn’t even make any crime. They will just rub you the wrong way with their habits. The game lacks challenges that will add to its replay value. All in all, this is just like Grim’s version of Tinder.
